Baskerville Drummond is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Batt as a Legal Technology Training Consultant.
Martin joins Baskerville Drummond with extensive experience supporting law firms through the implementation, optimisation, and adoption of legal technology. With over eight years working within a Top 50 UK law firm, he brings a strong, practical understanding of how technology, process, and people intersect in a regulated legal environment.
Martin specialises in a wide range of core legal systems, including Liberate PMS/CMS, NetDocuments, iManage, Litera, Intapp, BigHand, and Microsoft 365. He has led the delivery and adoption of firm-wide platforms, supported the introduction of AI-enabled solutions, and worked closely with both legal and business services teams to ensure systems are configured to support efficient, compliant working practices.
A key differentiator in Martin’s approach is his background as a qualified IT Trainer and Learning & Development professional. Holding recognised teaching and L&D qualifications, including a Level 5 L&D qualification and a Level 4 teaching qualification, Martin applies established learning principles to drive sustainable change. He understands that successful technology transformation depends as much on effective training and engagement as it does on technical delivery.
Prior to joining Baskerville Drummond, Martin delivered legal technology training at Quiss Technology, working with a broad range of law firms from large national practices to boutique firms across the UK. His previous training roles at Wright Hassall LLP, Coventry University, and Numidia Academy further strengthen his ability to design and deliver practical, relevant training tailored to different firm sizes and operating models.
Having worked with Martin to deliver several projects at Wright Hassall while I was their IT Consultant, it was fantastic to have him join the team at Baskerville Drummond.
Martin was instrumental in supporting our vision to transform Wright Hassall’s technology from an ageing on-premises Citrix and iManage environment to a modern cloud platform based on Microsoft Cloud and NetDocuments. I’m delighted Martin has joined us as an Implementation and Training Consultant, his combination of hands-on delivery experience and learning & development expertise will help our clients realise the full rewards of their technology – David
Martin works with clients both in person and virtually, delivering training to audiences ranging from small specialist teams to large, multi-office firms. His work focuses on embedding user adoption through structured, role-based learning, supporting change programmes, and translating business requirements into practical, user-focused system solutions.
After eight years in IT at HCR Wright Hassall, I’m excited to be joining Baskerville Drummond LLP as a Legal Technology Consultant, focusing on delivering successful implementations, effective training, and real user adoption. Having worked closely with Baskerville Drummond’s highly experienced consultants over the years, their practical, user-focused approach to legal technology has been a massive influence on how I think about what “good” implementation really looks like. I’m looking forward to bringing my in-house experience into a consultancy role, helping firms embed technology into everyday practice and ensuring it delivers genuine value from day one. – Martin
Baskerville Drummond continues to strengthen its consultancy offering, supporting law firms of all sizes with forward-thinking, business-focused technology strategies that deliver real operational impact.
