David is the founding member of Baskerville Drummond, now recognised as one of the UK’s leading IT and business consultancies serving the legal sector.

With a background in software engineering, David began his career delivering bespoke, internet-enabled solutions for a software development company. In 2002, he moved into the legal sector as Software Applications Manager for a national PI law firm, overseeing the development of bespoke systems, case management solutions, reporting tools and PMS projects. He later became Head of IT and ultimately Director of Operations and IT at a regional law firm, where he transformed the firm’s use of technology and operational processes.

In 2011, David founded Baskerville Drummond to provide strategic advice and hands-on project support to UK law firms. With more than 23 years’ specialist experience, he has deep knowledge of legal sector technologies, suppliers and operational challenges. His consultancy work spans IT reviews, procurement, implementation and long-term advisory roles, including acting as a retained “Virtual IT Director” for several firms.

David specialises in complex and high-risk IT projects, including mergers, demergers, major PMS initiatives, and recovering failing technology programmes. He is increasingly called upon to help firms address issues with underperforming outsourced hosting or support arrangements.

Known for his straight-talking, pragmatic style, David is a trusted advisor to both clients and suppliers. If your firm is facing IT challenges or considering a change in systems or providers, David is available for a free, confidential discussion.
