A warm welcome to the latest edition of our newsletter, where we share some of our recent articles, training tips, case studies and what is with the picture of us all as pigs!
As with everything Baskerville Drummond do, we try to stand out from the crowd and approach things differently, so we recently embarked on a team building day with a difference. Curly Tails offered us the opportunity to help look after the pigs for the day and build new shelters. This was a great opportunity to see how we all would work together when completely outside our comfort zones. The day was filled with mud, pigs and fun, apart from when Chris lost his welly in the bog!
On a very positive side note we’re delighted to be ranked in Band 1 for Law Tech Consulting in the Chambers NewLaw Guide for 2024.
In this issue, you will find:
- The AI Machine
- The importance of purging client and matter records
- Lesson learned: Wrong e-mail recipient – delay delivery
- Beccy’s “Top Tip” training video on opening multiple instances in Outlook and explains why this is useful
We hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and we appreciate your feedback and suggestions for future editions.
With best wishes from the Baskerville Drummond team

Breaking News
We’re delighted to be ranked in Band 1 for Law Tech Consulting in the newly established Chambers New Law Guide for 2024.
For the previous three years we were ranked as Band 1 for the Chambers Law Tech Guide so to retain our Band 1 ranking in the new guide is wonderful.
Chambers conduct a rigorous and independent research process, and this ranking is a testament to both our hard working and knowledgeable team but mainly due to our wonderful clients who were prepared to take the time to speak with the Chambers research team – thank you so much!

Lesson learned: Wrong e-mail recipient – delay delivery
The dreaded mistake – sending the wrong e-mail to the wrong person! We’ve all done it. As soon as you press Send, you see the ‘To recipient’ is not who you wanted and poof! email sent.

Case Studies of Recent Work
“Although we had done a huge amount of research and due diligence in the run up to the selection project, we still hadn’t ever done a project of this scale before.
We were confident but thought it made sense to seek some extra reassurance and confirmation that we were on the right lines; to maybe challenge some of our assumptions and help us clarify our thinking; and to just wrap around us a comfort blanket of experience, knowledge, insight, objectivity and encouragement.”
Mel Smith
Chief Information Officer, Buckles

“We identified that we had quite a skills gap in the level of excel knowledge across the team and many of those deemed competent at excel had learned many ‘work arounds’ to make things work. Beccy was able to devise a plan which went through the basics of excel whilst touching on the more detailed functionality. Everybody in the team was able to upskill their knowledge and understanding of excel. Beccy’s teaching style was very inclusive, taking you through every step of the process. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Beccy for any software learning.
All firms struggle with adopting their IT, to discuss your training needs contact Beccy.”
