A warm welcome to our winter newsletter, a handy digest of all the recently published articles, news, and blogs from Baskerville Drummond.
We can’t believe it’s been over a year since our last newsletter (which was as long ago as July 2022), so we are obviously very close to failing in our New Years resolution to be “better at marketing” – expect more from us in 2024!
2023 has been another extremely busy year focusing on supporting our wonderful clients with lots of exciting projects. From IT Reviews, Outsource provider selection, PMS selection & Implementations, training and general strategic support. We are enthused and grateful for the number of projects we are trusted to support.
We hope you find the following articles and case studies of interest.
With best wishes from the Baskerville Drummond team

What’s your Microsoft Security Score?
We’re seeing a pattern of law firms outsourcing their IT to Managed Service Providers and implementing Microsoft 365 for online services. There seems to be a comfort that if you outsource IT and use Microsoft 365, you don’t need to worry about security – but think again – this exposes you to significant business risks…

It’s impossible to avoid the explosion of “AI” news with a plethora of new developments and products being discussed on mainstream news, in the legal press, on LinkedIn and at networking events. Huge and exciting strides are being made in the areas of automation and data analysis, but despite the hard hitting headlines we are still…
The benefits of remote training
Covid not only changed the way we travel the world, but it fast tracked the way in which law firms work, with less people in the office and more staff working remotely. But has IT training adapted to meet these new needs? “Remote working” has now become a household term, with most law firms choosing a hybrid…
New Website
During the year we spent some time thinking about the services we offer and how we present ourselves to clients and suppliers. We have developed our new mission statement which is “to demystify law firm IT and be a trusted and independent technology advisor to UK based law firms”.
We also clarified our offering via our 5 core services of Review, Select, Implement, Support and Training.
Case Studies of Recent Work
“Even though we were confident in our research and due diligence exercise leading up to changing our mission critical CMS and PMS systems, this project was not every day territory in terms of its scale. While our confidence was high in our internal team, we recognised the value of seeking external assurance to validate our approach, challenge our presumptions, and keep both us and our supplier on track.
The Baskerville Drummond team didn’t just provide us with the comfort of extensive experience and objective insight; they significantly enhanced our project management capabilities. Their relationship management with our system supplier, combined with their external perspective, not only lent credibility but also brought a persuasive weight to our discussions, ensuring our project’s success. Their involvement was key to the successful delivery of our new CMS and PMS systems.”

“The additional support offered by Baskerville Drummond post go-live has been invaluable in helping us get the most out of our IT investment. Training sessions with Beccy Scobell have been most informative and helped our people engage so much more with the system. Chris Winterburn has been excellent in assisting us tailor the system for our different departments. Above all, they’ve all taken the time to understand our business and what we want to achieve and importantly are a pleasure to deal with.”

“Baskerville Drummond worked tirelessly with our leadership team and across the firm to support us in selecting the best solution for our firm. Their support didn’t end there. They worked with us closely in the lead up to Go Live as well as providing ongoing support for additional bespoke development. Ever professional, they were practical, pragmatic and everyone we came across from Baskerville Drummond was easy to work with. The project was not without it’s challenges and Baskerville Drummond’s support was invaluable.”
