Parisi Tax – PMS Selection

Initially, we expected to undertake a standard PMS discovery and selection process to identify solutions that best matched the firm’s unique needs and a vendor that aligned with their ambitions and support expectations.

During our initial investigations, we identified that Parisi did not manage client monies, and due to the unique nature of their matters, elements such as case management were not relevant. This freed us from several challenges typically encountered in PMS projects.

The firm’s requirements were focused on:

1. Document and Email Management,
2. Time Recording and Billing,
3. Key Date Management, and
4. Reporting.

We faced a quandary as the needs of the Document Management System (DMS) were more akin to a “best of breed” solution rather than an all-in-one system. Our assessment was that the firm would be disappointed with the DMS functionality offered by the “all-in-one” solutions compared to their requirements and experience with DMS solutions at other firms.

Typically, firms much larger than Parisi adopt a best of breed strategy, so we pivoted to identify solutions that provided time recording and billing while also integrating with a best of breed cloud-based DMS solution.

We identified and recommended a solution, supporting the firm through demonstrations, due diligence, scoping, and negotiations. A key element of this selection was choosing a supplier who understood Parisi’s business and would be responsive to their needs despite their small size. It was essential that this was a true partnership. It is hugely exciting that a firm of Parisi’s size will be operating with a world-class DMS and a challenger Practice Management Solution.
