Davidson Chalmers Stewart – PMS Selection

Project type: PMS Selection

Baskerville Drummond were appointed to undertake a light-touch PMS selection project including the creation of a formal RTT process and requirements document.

Selection Process

Davidson Chalmers Stewart (DCS) have been using Thomson Reuters Envision as its PMS for several years. As the system was “end of lifed” shortly after its installation, the firm never fully received the expected benefits from the system. For example, the finance team were running an Excel spreadsheet which was the firm’s “daybook” and used for reporting purposes.

DCS initially embarked on a replacement project a couple of years ago and felt they were ahead of the curve in terms of firms having to move away from Envision. Sadly, due to various project challenges it became apparent that the selected solution and supplier were not going to work.

At this stage we were introduced to Neil and subsequently appointed to undertake a light-touch PMS selection project.

Due to the work which DCS had already undertaken, this selection was a reaffirmation of needs and the creation of a formal RTT process and requirements document.

Our work involved:

  • Briefing the steering group on PMS market changes since their last review
  • Identifying and prioritising needs
  • Identifying and agreeing shortlist
  • Running the RTT process
  • Agendas for demonstrations
  • Supporting due diligence, project scoping and phasing

“David’s expertise and knowledge of the legal IT market is second to none. He helped guide our project team through a challenging process resulting in a very positive conclusion. I would highly recommend him and Baskerville Drummond.”
