We are pleased to share that Baskerville Drummond has once again achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification for 2025.

This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to maintaining robust, independently verified cyber security standards for the benefit of our clients, partners and colleagues.

Earning the certification for another year is a welcome confirmation that the controls we have in place continue to operate effectively in a rapidly changing threat landscape. It also ensures that the organisations who rely on us can do so with confidence, knowing that our systems, processes and people meet a recognised national benchmark for cyber security.

What Is Cyber Essentials Plus?

Cyber Essentials Plus is the higher level of the UK Government–backed Cyber Essentials scheme, designed to help organisations protect themselves from a wide range of common cyber threats.

While the basic Cyber Essentials certification validates that certain technical controls are in place, Cyber Essentials Plus goes a step further. It includes:

  • Independent, hands-on testing by an accredited assessor
  • Verification of security controls in practice, not just on paper
  • Assessment of devices, infrastructure and user protections
  • Real-world simulations of threat scenarios, such as malware outbreaks and unauthorised access attempts

In short, Cyber Essentials Plus provides a more rigorous and practical assurance that an organisation’s cyber security measures are operating as intended day-to-day.

Keep It Real 4: Access Control. Who Actually Has Access to What?

Most organisations assume access is under control: logins exist, permissions are assigned and systems sit behind authentication. On paper it looks tidy but in reality access piles up over time, with little visibility and less removal. “Access creep” is one of the most...

Keep It Real 3: Software Updates, The Patch You Didn’t Apply

We tend to picture cyber breaches as sophisticated attacks beating sophisticated defences. In reality many breaches exploit something simpler such as a known vulnerability with a fix that was never applied. Patching is one of the most basic and effective security...
